About Me
I am a Transport Planner and a Town Planner with over 30 years experience. I have prepared, and advised on, Travel Plans for local authorities, schools/colleges/universities, healthcare and primary care trusts and private companies; and also developed a wide range of transport strategies and policies including reviews of bus networks, bus revenue support criteria and taxi rank provision.
I am an independent transport consultant, based in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England. I am a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport. I belong to the Association for Commuter Transport and the Transport Planning Society.
My career of over thirty years has spanned local government, the public transport industry and a transport research consultancy. I have written and spoken extensively on sustainable transport issues, including Travel Plans.
Part of my work is advising businesses on how they can do Travel Plans. Since 2001 I have been on a panel of consultants in the Department for Transport's 'Transport Energy Programme' offering advice for workplaces and tourism/leisure sites. This scheme has offered organisations up to five days of free advice from the consultants. It ended in March 2006 but many free publications are available from www.est.org.uk/fleet/publications
